This is an original watercolour painting of Gull Rock, Portreath, Cornwall.
I am lucky enough to live just 3 miles from Portreath and Gull Rock is the essence of Portreath, sitting out to sea, a haven for sea birds, watching over the antics of everyone on the beach!
In this painting I have used brighter colours to remind you a summer’s day in Portreath, although it does have a hint of darker clouds on the horizon, a gentle reminder that the weather in Cornwall can change quickly! Gesso has also used to create the texture of the waves as they roll onto the beach.
