About Jane Hooper

When I was in school I enjoyed my art classes and my best O Level was my Art, however life came along I my paints got put away. It was whilst on holiday, on the beautiful island of Menorca, I got my paints out again and tried to capture (unsuccessfully) some of the scenery. So In October 2004 I decided to go attend evening classes and study Watercolour painting under the expert guidance of Rachel Phillips. Within a few weeks I was given enough knowledge to start to produce paintings that no longer had to be confined to the dustbin.

I do enjoy painting “en plair air” where I have adopted a quick pen and ink sketch style so I can capture the scene, this may be in Cornwall, where I am lucky enough to live, or on holiday.

I now have my own Art Studio in my garden, so I am set up to paint whenever I feel inspired, and as it has a wonderful view of Carn Brea, that happens quite frequently!
