Description

An original watercolour painting of dark skies brewing over the Engine House at Carn Galver Mine.

The old tin mine workings at Carn Galver (or Carn Galva), have been restored by the National Trust, on the St Just to Zennor road. In this painting the sun filters through the dark clouds giving the most spectacular sunset. I love the West Penwith area, it can be a peaceful spot, even in the most busiest summer, and being on the north coast of Cornwall it is a great place to view sunsets, but it must have been a hard life for the Miners who worked in this mine.
