Description

An original watercolour small painting of Lanyon Quoit, Cornwall, using pen and ink as an initial sketch and then painted afterwards.

Lanyon Quoit, close to Morvah, Penzance is one of Cornwall’s many ancient monuments dating back many, many thousands of years. I think it is hauntingly beautiful even though it is believed to be a burial mound.

It was a crisp, cold February day when I found a “comfy rock” to sit and capture this beautiful monument. Although the sun was out it was pretty cold so I did paint this with my gloves on.
