Whilst I know I haven’t finished my painting of St Ives …
It is nearly finished, but I think I need a little more definition of the boats in water. Any other thoughts?
Then of course there is my painting of Godrevy lighthouse,
Mark reckons I need to make more of the sun that is setting, as it is hidden by the clouds too much. Any other feedback?
But this is my new painting I have started of Venice, which I thought I would share with you. After visiting Venice in September, where I didn’t do any sketching, despite taking all my stuff, but it was just too hot and we were not there long enough. Anyway I have been desperate to start my “Venice” series so am feeling quite pleased.
I was feeling quite stressed and decided a good way to relax would be to use my “pen and dot method”. It is a very very slow process as the dark lines are created by a series of little tiny dots, however it is also very very relaxing and guaranteed to help you forget the cares and stresses of the day.
It will still be a painting, but the majority of the detail will be created using the Pen and then I will put some loose watercolour over the top, to stop it being a drawing. So the Gondolier won’t look like it is floating in mid-air by the time I have finished!
Hi and thanks for the advice, and the website genuinely looks superb. Just what wp theme are you utilizing?
I am using my own design and theme.
Oh, I love Venice and would be thrilled to eat a Falafel there!(haha I’m a pslime kinda gal) When we were there, I am pretty sure my husband and I subsisted solely on the fresh coconut from those little carts! Beautiful photos!!
